Homecoming Reception for Alumni to Showcase 3D Art Annex
A reception in the 3D Art Annex for School of Art alumni and supporters will be the featured Homecoming activity two hours prior to kickoff on Saturday, October 10th. Professor Tina Fuentes, Interim Director, welcomes the opportunity to showcase the new facilities, “Now that both Ceramics and Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing have moved in and construction is due to start on the Sculpture area, I am just delighted to be able to show-off this lovely facility."
Tours through the new areas will be on-going during the reception; snacks and refreshments will be served. Alumni and friends attending are requested to RSVP by Monday, October 5th to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 806-742-3825 ext. 265.
As a Homecoming Week activity for current students to partake of, the School of Art has partnered up with the National Arts & Humanities Month to present our own screening of an episode of ART: 21, PBS’s award winning series on contemporary artists. To be presented on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 PM in Art Room B-01, the episode entitled Compassion will feature William Kentridge, Doris Salcedo and Carrie Mae Weems. Students, alumni and friends are invited to attend this free event. Refreshments will be served and an art activity organized by MFA candidate Scotty Hensler will follow.
In addition, the School of Art will have its annual School of Art Alumni Advisory Committee meeting on Saturday morning.
