GRADUATE STUDENTS

JANE LINDSAY ELMORE, will have a solo exhibition at the Underwood Center in Lubbock in October through December in the John F. Lott Gallery of the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, Lubbock. The exhibition will feature her work on the McCarty Project Family Members Impacted by Capital Punishment.

ZACH NADER, 2nd year Photography MFA candidate, is one of the artists, selected from over 400 entries from around the world, whose work was selected into the 2009 Pingyao International Photography Festival presented in Pingyao, China in September. He had two photographs selected into the Relentless Eye, an exhibition of cellphone photography to be presented at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, VT in late September-October. He is one of 35 artists who have been selected to be published in Volume II (March 2010 issue) of Diffusion Magazine, a print magazine focused on unconventional photographic processes and photo related artwork.

CHISUM PIERCE, 3rd year Photography MFA candidate, had five photographs purchased into the collection of the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan. Juried from the Young Portfolio 2009 Competition by Tsuneo ENARI, Issei SUDA, and museum Director, Eikoh HOSOE, Chisum’s photographs were selected from a total of 8,345 prints submitted by 404 photographers. The Young Portfolio Acquisitions 2009 will be exhibited during spring 2010.

SARAH ROBERTS, 3rd year Jewelry Design & Metalsmithing MFA candidate, had an art work published in Cantanker Magazine Issue 8: Anxiety. Her work was exhibited in conjunction with the Catalog Release at the Pump Project in Austin, TX in September.

CHRISTOPHER VOSS, 3rd year Painting MFA Candidate, will have a solo exhibition at the Agora Gallery, Chelsea, New York City, in October.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Congratulations to the following School of Art seniors who have been named for the 2009 list of Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. The Who’s Who selection criteria is based on academic achievement, leadership, and service. This exclusive honor is conferred by more than 1,000 colleges/universities throughout the United States. The will be recognized at a Recognition Reception at the Merket Alumni Center on Sunday, November 1st.
