Student Accomplishments for October – December 2007

GRADUATE STUDENTS

BRIANNA BURNETT (3rd year MFA candidate in photography from Lubbock) was in a two-person exhibition in the Ira M. Taylor Memorial Art Gallery at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene in October-November 2007.  She was also in a juried exhibition called Dead Guy in the Bluebonnetts at Austin College in Sherman, TX in October where she received the 2nd place cash prize.

KYLE MCQUILKIN (doctoral student in the FADP-Art program) entered his lowrider bike in the national Lowrider Magazine 30th Annual Las Vegas Supershow and placed second in the category for 24-26 inch bicycles.

ROLANDO SHAW (3rd year MFA candidate in ceramics from Rockwall) is one of 43 clay artists nationwide selected into the Clay on the Wall:: 2007 Clay National by juror, Matthew Kangas.  The exhibition runs from December 2007 through February 2008.

DRYDEN WELLS(3rd year MFA candidate in ceramics from St. Louis) is one of 43 clay artists nationwide selected into the Clay on the Wall:: 2007 Clay National by Matthew Kangas.  The exhibition runs from December 2007 through February 2008.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

MATTHEW WIEDERAENDERS, senior in sculpture, was in a two-person exhibition at the R Gallery in Lubbock in November.
