MFA :: Ceramics Emphasis
The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program in art with an emphasis in Ceramics is a 3-year program. Graduate students are encouraged to pursue a personal artistic direction both conceptually and technically. Individual and group critiques are an important part of the course, and reviews of student work are conducted by the ceramics faculty intermittently during the semester. A review of current work is conducted by School of Art faculty at the end of each semester.
Superlative facilities support the creative research of the MFA candidate. As mentioned above with respect to the undergraduate program, guest artists supplement instruction with lectures, workshops and studio critiques. Recent visiting artists include Tom Bartel, Christyl Boger, Keith Ekstam, Barbara Frey, Robert “Boomer” Moore, Ron Nagle and Brad Schwieger.
