Summer Discovery Art Program 2015

The Texas Tech University School of Art will hold its second Summer Discovery Art Program this June 2015. It is a non-residential (middle school) and residential (high school) summer program designed to offer middle and high school students a taste of a college art degree. A 5-day immersive experience, students will learn to think and make art in a holistic way, experiment with a variety of two- and three-dimensional and time-based media to test the limits of creative expression, and collaborate with fellow students to install an exhibition at the end of the week.

The Program will take place between June 15-19, 2015 (for middle school students), and June 22-26, 2015 (for high school students). The Program will begin daily at 9am and end at 5pm. Students who would like to participate, but do not reside in Lubbock, are encouraged to stay with a relative or friend in the city for the duration of the Program. The high school program will house students in one of the dormitories on the TTU Lubbock campus.

The cost of the Program per student is $250. Lunches will be provided, and the fee will cover the purchase of art supplies and instructor fees. Students will need to make a $50 deposit (payable to "TTU School of Art") to secure their place in the Program. Applicants are encouraged to register by May 10, 2015 - enrollment is limited, so sign up immediately!
