To get to the next level, we looked into the future and identified the areas in the School of Art program which need the most support.  At the top of the list is Student Scholarships.  We consistently lose the brightest students because we are limited in our ability to enable their academic careers by providing competitive scholarships and graduate assistantships.  While several benefactors have established scholarship endowments which have enabled us to recruit and assist some outstanding students, these are few and limited. The School of Art is grateful to have these donors.  In a “state-assisted” rather than “state-supported” funding climate, more student support is necessary.

To meet that need, the Medici Circle – Supporters of the School of Art formed through the efforts of the Lubbock citizens with School of Art faculty and staff identified on the sidebar.  Our mission is to financially support and promote the Texas Tech School of Art and to raise scholarship funds for students enrolled in the Texas Tech School of Art.

The Medici Circle invites you to JOIN in our efforts to:
            - Create scholarship endowments for Art students,
            - Develop awareness about the School of Art,
            - Promote exhibitions, guest speakers, and visiting artists programs at SOA,
            - Help achieve the target goals of the SOA Development Art Vision 20/20.

Annual Medici Circle dues of $50 (for an individual or family) are 100% tax deductible because ALL of your donations go to scholarship endowments.

Students, (college and high school) you are eligible to join the Medici Circle by volunteering 10 hours of service in lieu of the $50 annual dues. Call 806.742.1947 or email Joe Arredondo for details.
