Incoming Student Application
For Academic Year 2017-2018

After incoming freshmen and transfer students have applied and been accepted into Texas Tech University to start school in Fall 2017, they are required by the School of Art to submit a portfolio and/or writing sample as part of its admissions requirements into the BA in Art or Art History or the BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Studies and all Studio Art areas.

Freshmen and transfer students intending to enter the BA in Art or the BFA in Graphic Design, Studio Art (all areas), or Visual Studies programs must submit a portfolio – a sample of your own, best work – as part of the application process - see Part B of the Application Form .

Freshmen and transfer students intending to enter into the BA in Art History program must submit a writing sample – your best Art History paper or similar paper – as part of the application process. Art History additionally requires incoming students to submit a resumé and a high school or college transcript - see Part C of the Application Form.

The completed application with your portfolio and/or writing sample will also make you eligible for School of Art RECRUITMENT SCHOLARSHIP evaluation and consideration.
