A
Study in Archaeology at Lubbock Lake Landmark

Lubbock
Lake Landmark is an archaeology and natural history preserve.
People have lived on the Southern High Plains, also called the
Llano Estacado, for at least the last 12,000 years. Many things
have changed in that time--the climate, the wildlife, the water
supply, and the various groups of people. The interaction of humans
and the environment is a dynamic, constant process of change and
adaptation to change. Humans either adjust their behavior and
culture to an ecosystem's climate and resources in order to survive
or leave the region. When that environment changes, humans alter
their lives to cope with the new conditions and relieve the stress
placed on their previous way of life.

Texas, and in your own hometown!
