Introduction at 6:15 pm by Rob Weiner.  This movie is being brought to coordinate with the Remnant Trust exhibition.  The movie, starring Hilary Swank, is a production of HBO and is for older audiences, not a children’s movie.

    • "Training and Flying in Space - What it is really like from an astronaut's perspective" by Dr. Albert Sacco Jr., 6:30pm, in Helen DeVitt Jones Auditorium. Dr. Sacco, TTU Dean of Engineering and former astronaut, flew on the space shuttle Columbia in 1995. His research focus is in the areas of carbon nanotube initiation and growth, catalysis, zeolite synthesis, biosensors development, and synthesis and device integration of quantum wires from natural materials. The talk is most appropriate for grade 6 and up.

  • 20… Eclipse Party at the Lubbock Lake Landmark, 6:30pm. The Moon will pass directly between the Sun and Earth, eclipsing the Sun. Because the Moon is a little farther from the Earth than normal, this will be an annular eclipse, where the Moon covers about 94% of the Sun's surface, leaving a ring of light visible. Eye-safe filtered telescopes, glasses, and other observing devices will be provided for participants. Free
