  • 26… Music@The Museum: "Music in the Life of Thomas Jefferson," Helen DeVitt Jones Auditorium, 3pm. The Caerus Ensemble performs music by composers from Thomas Jefferson’s own music library and recounts biographical aspects of his musical life. This concert is one of Ensemble’s educational concerts, performed for schools, libraries, assisted living, and memory care centers predominantly throughout the West Texas region.

  • 4... "Time Exposures: Picturing Isleta Pueblo in the 19th Century," Gallery 2&3. An exhibition telling the story of the Isleta Pueblo, a Native American community in New Mexico, and the yearly cycle of traditional events that dominate their lives and the history of their struggle to maintain those traditions in the face of American expansion in the mid 1800s.
  • 4... "In Addition Two: Embracing Digital Technology," an "Up From the Basement" exhibition focusing on the use of digital technology to create and/or enhance art works.

  • 27... "Frank Lloyd Wright’s Samara: A Mid-Century Dream Home," Gallery 1. Told through the combination of original objects and furniture, architectural fragments, rare archival materials, historic photographs, and video footage, this exhibit explores the creation of a Frank Lloyd Wright house made into a family home. Samara was constructed between 1954 and 1956 in West Lafayette, Indiana, and was based on Wright's Usonian houses-modest-sized, affordable, environmentally sensitive dwellings-of which Wright created over one hundred designs. Frank Lloyd Wright's Samara offers visitors a unique behind-the-scenes look at the creation of an architectural masterpiece.

The Friday event will be ticketed, but Saturday event will be free to the public. Join us for as we make decorative miniature quilts. You will tell your story and design your quilt with fabric, paint, ribbons, etc. This is a no-sew craft. Quilts will be put together with fabric glue.
