Family Weekend
MatadorThe Texas Tech Parents Association hosts Family Weekend each Fall. It is a great time to reconnect with your student and experience Texas Tech. You will have a whole weekend of events to choose from that will be fun for your entire family. This is also the weekend that the Texas Tech Parents Association's holds its famous Tuition Draw, where those who have purchased tickets can win up to $4,000.00 in tuition! Family Weekend 2011 was September 23-24, 2011. Next year's date will be posted here in the beginning of the spring 2012 semester. For more information, click here.
Spring Scholarship and Awards Breakfast

Graduate

Each spring, the Texas Tech Parents Association meets to celebrate the achievements of Texas Tech faculty and students. Four faculty awards are given: The Distinguished Leadership Award, the Spencer A. Wells Award for Creativity in Teaching, the Hemphill-Wells New Faculty Award, and the Barnie E. Rushing Distinguished Research Award. One student from each of the colleges and the Schools of Law, Nursing, and Allied Health is awarded the Student Academic Citizenship Award. During this breakfast, the Texas Tech Parents Association also honors its current scholarship recipients. The Spring Scholarship and Awards Breakfast was held on April 2, 2011. Raider Relief Fund

Due to a troubled economy and rising college tuition and fees, more students at Texas Tech are experiencing financial crises. Currently, financial aid and scholarship awards cover tuition and fees with less remaining for living expenses. The Raider Relief Fund is designed to help students experiencing a financial crisis remain enrolled at Texas Tech to complete their education. This program is a collaborative effort between Parent and Family Relations and the Texas Tech Parents Association. Students interested in this program should contact Parent and Family Relations at (806) 742-3630.

Road Raiders Safe Travel Parent and Family Network

roadTexas Tech parents have volunteered to help students traveling on the road to/from Texas Tech, whether students are in need of a rest break, assistance with their vehicle, or directions. Parents and family members can join Road Raiders when registering as a member of the Texas Tech Parents Association. Those participating in the program will have their name, city, and phone number available to Texas Tech students, who can search by city from their wireless devices. Sibling Weekend
Guns up

Sibling Weekend is held on the Tech campus and is is a fun, educational, and spirit-filled weekend for Tech students and their siblings between the ages of 8-15. The schedule includes athletic, spirit, craft, and educational activities that combine to provide a unique and special experience for Texas Tech students and their siblings. We hope those siblings attending will create even stronger bonds with their brother or sister who is at Tech and get a sense of what it's like to be a Red Raider. Bus Trips

The Texas Tech Parents Association periodically offers affordable bus trips for students going home for Thanksgiving and Spring Break. Cities that have been served by bus trips in the past include Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Click Here for more information about upcoming bus trips
