Currently the BUY DIRECT PROGRAMS consist of contracts for computer equipment, office supplies and laboratory supplies. The office supply contract (Summus/Staples) is an online contract and will not require the processing of purchase orders or RIs. Each time a purchase is made, the authorized user selects the appropriate account for the charge. The account information will automatically be uploaded into the TECHFIM accounting system on a monthly basis. The computer contract (Dell) and the laboratory supply contract (Fisher Scientific) are also on-line contracts, but will require the processing of a purchase order. However, the necessary information (except for departmental/accounting information) will automatically populate the purchase order.

For requests that are not BUY DIRECT PROGRAMS, select a BUY-IT REQUEST, either E-PO or E-RQ. Unsure, select "needs help" and you will automatically be directed to the appropriate site. Also, there are instructions that will walk you through the process for the E-PO and E-RQ. BUY-IT REQUESTS are purchasing transactions - not payable transactions. After these requests have been approved, they will be electronically submitted, faxed, or mailed to the vendor.
