The main body of the legislative branch is the Student Senate. Senators are elected by every College on the campus including the law school and the graduate school. Senate meetings deal with legislation much like other governmental bodies under the guidelines of parliamentary procedure. The Senate serves as a liaison representing students to the faculty and administration. The Senate is comprised of several committees. The chairmen for each of these committees is appointed by the President of the Senate.
Freshman Council and Freshman Advisory Board
The freshman student government is comprised of elected individuals who aim to bridge the gap between high school and college student governments. The primary objective of Freshman Council is to be a Senate support group who is a voice for freshman students. The President of the Senate appoints a Freshman Involvement Advisor who oversees the Freshman Council and Freshman Advisory Board.
