Freshman Year

First Semester

1. Explore 3 majors/minor of interest
2. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
3. Meet with Career Counselor at the Career Center
4. Identify strengths, interests, and potential career considerations
5. Explore Campus Organizations
6. Major Map and Academic Physical
7. Develop personal goals
8. Get to know yourself- Student Affairs

Second Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Participate in community outreach projects
3. StrengthsQuest assessment
4. Additional Career Assessments (Myers-Briggs, etc.)
5. Develop alternate career paths and goals

Sophomore Year

First Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Meet with Career Counselor at Career Center
3. Identify and Declare best fit major/minor
4. Begin financial planning: open a checking/savings account
5. Know academic requirements for graduation
6. Explore interesting student organizations
7. Explore job experience that supports career goals
8. Participate in career fairs
9. Talk to a professional in major field (explore future educational needs)

Second Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Participate in community outreach projects
3. Attend resume workshop
4. Participate in career shadow program
5. Explore summer employment and volunteer experiences

Junior Year

First Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Meet with Career Counselor at Career Center
3. Research graduate school options
4. Develop potential references (Faculty, Administration, etc.
5. Research summer internships, employment, volunteer experiences in career path
6. Participate in career shadow programs
7. Participate in mock interviews
8. Complete graduation plan with academic advisor
9. Participate in graduate school fairs and/or career fairs

Second Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Reassess career goals (including alternate career plans)
3. Join Clubs/Organizations in chosen field/major
4. Develop resume and cover letter
5. Participate in Next Step workshops

Senior Year

First Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Participate in mock interviews
3. Attend career fairs
4. Search for jobs openings
5. Request letters of reference from selected faculty, administration, etc.
6. Complete application procedures for graduate school

Second Semester

1. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor
2. Finalize resume/cover letter for jobs
3. Complete Job Search Workshops
4. Participate in Next Step Workshops
5. Research possible employer information
