College of Engineering Requirements

First-Time Freshman Admission

Only incoming freshmen who qualify to enroll in Calculus 1 (MATH 1451) will gain automatic admission to the Whitacre College of Engineering.

Only incoming freshmen who meet Assured Admissions requirements for TTU will gain automatic admission to the Whitacre College of Engineering.

Transfer Admissions and Current PREN Students

All transfer students with 12 or more hours of transferable college work will be admitted initially to University PreEngineering. However, students who meet BOTH of the following requirements may be transfered directly into the College of Engineering.
  1. Transfer GPA is a minimum of 2.0 ...AND...
  2. Student qualifies to enroll in Calculus 1 (MATH 1451)

Transfer Admissions and Current PREN Students

All transfer students with 12 or more hours of transferable college work will be admitted initially to University PreEngineering. However, students who meet ALL of the following requirements may be transfered directly into the College of Engineering.
  1. Minimum of 24 transferable credit hours...AND...
  2. Minimum Transfer GPA of 3.0...AND...
  3. Student qualifies to enroll in Calculus 1 (MATH 1451)
All GPA requirements listed to the left must include successful completion of the Foundational Curriculum to transfer into the desired Engineering department. For the Foundational Curriculum, students must complete 8 hours of Math, 8 hours of Science, 3 hours of Engineering and 6 hours of English.
