Distance Delivered Doctoral Program
The joint distance delivered Doctor of Education in Agricultural Education (Doc@Distance) requires a minimum of 64 semester hours of graduate course work beyond the Master’s degree along with the development of a dissertation/record of study. This innovative professional degree designed for the practitioner of agricultural education is a joint degree program with the Texas A&M University’s Department of Agricultural Education. The degree is awarded jointly by both universities.
All courses are delivered through distance technology (e.g., interactive video, Internet-based). Students are members of a cohort and advance through the program together. Periodic face-to-face meetings with students and faculty are also part of the program. The very first cohort, consisting of 20 professionals from Texas, began their program in the fall of 1999 and will graduate in 2004. The second cohort, consisting of 14 professionals from Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Indiana, and Montana; began their program in the fall of 2003 and will graduate in 2007. We anticipate admitting our third cohort in the spring of 2006.
