Kyle W. McGregor, Ed.D.Hometown: Moody, Texas Now resides in: Stephenville, Texas Degree: 1997, M.S. Agricultural Education; 2002, Ed.D. in Agricultural Education Position: Faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Services & Development at Tarleton State University. Responsible for teacher education in agricultural education. How I got to Tech: "Following my undergraduate experience at Tarleton I wanted to find another institution that also offered a genuine concern for undergraduate education. The Department of Agricultural Education & Communications at Texas Tech did not disappoint! I was received with open arms and treated as family along with all of the other students in the department. I did not hesitate to return for my doctoral degree because of my earlier graduate experiences in the department." After graduating from Tech: "Actually, I took the position that I am currently in before officially graduating from Tech! That says something about placement!" Memories of Tech: "I have nothing but great memories about the Department of Agricultural Education & Communications at Texas Tech. I was treated with such respect and given so many opportunities to learn. If I had to pick one memory that was the best it would be my friends! Not only did I have friends who were fellow students, I made true life-long friends within the faculty and staff of the department." Advice to prospective students: "I always give prospective college students the same advice. 'Choose wisely when considering a school, never make a decision based upon mascots, marketing or who they play on Saturdays. Rather, research the school that offers you the best educational opportunities in the field that you would like to study.' and/or 'Whatever school you choose will be the right one for you.' However, I will say this about the Department of Agricultural Education & Communications at Texas Tech, “TRY IT, YOU’LL LIKE IT!" |
