Steven "Boot" Chumbley
Doctoral Student, Agricultural Education
Mr. Chumbley started his doctorate in Agriculture Education in the Fall of 2009. He is the graduate assistant in the agriculture systems management labs and assists with the student teaching block. Prior to attending Texas Tech he was the Agriculture Department Chair and assistant administrator at Bandera High School. Before that, he taught for three years at Burbank High School in the San Antonio Independent school district.
Mr. Chumbley has experience supervising livestock projects, training CDE and LDE teams and advising the FFA student organization. He has worked diligently to acquire continual scholarship grants through the San Antonio Livestock Exposition for student’s collegiate success. He also managed the budget for the Toyota Agriculture Diversity grant.
Mr. Chumbley received his masters in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville and his bachelor’s in Agriculture Science from Texas A&M University. He is originally from San Antonio, Texas, where he attended Sandra Day O’Connor High School.
