Mary Lou Flom
Administrative Business Assistant - Agricultural Education and Communications
Mary Lou Flom began her career at Tech in 1972 working in the registrar’s office on campus. After four years of working there, Mrs. Flom moved over to work in the business office for one year. Finally, in 1978, Mrs. Flom began working in the Agricultural Education and Communications department.
Over the years, Mrs. Flom has received several awards. In 1993, she won the Top Techsan award, which is the highest award a staff member can receive here at Texas Tech. In 2006, Flom was also awarded with the CASNR Staff Award. Between receiving those two high achievements, Mrs. Flom has also received the Outstanding Achieving Award, the Superior Achieving Award, Honorary Farmer of Collegiate FFA, and Honorary Member of the Agricultural Education and Communications Alumni Association.
“I enjoy working in the Agricultural Communications and Education department because everyone from our college is sincere, honest, and hard-working,” Flom said.
Mrs. Flom has two children and three grandchildren. She currently resides in Lubbock with her husband, Michael Flom, and their schnauzer, Ome.
