Jonathan Ulmer, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Ulmer started at Texas Tech in 2008 as an assistant professor specializing in agricultural education. He has taught AGED 2300 Introduction to Agricultural Education, AGED 5302 Research Methods in Agricultural Education and Communications, AGED 5306 History and Philosophy of Agricultural Education and Communications, AGED 5308 Foundations of Adult Education and AGED 5310 College Teaching of Agriculture.

Dr. Ulmer is an award-winning researcher. He was most recently awarded the 2007 Author of the Year for the Journal of Agricultural Education. He has also been recognized for outstanding research paper presentations. After completing his Master’s thesis, Dr. Ulmer was awarded the Oklahoma State University Excellence in Research Award.

Within the profession, Dr. Ulmer has served at the chair for the Teacher Professional Development Special Interest Group. He is also a member of the American Association of Agricultural Education’s Professional Development Committee.
