Gaea Wimmer

Instructor

Ms. Wimmer started at Texas Tech University in 2009 as an instructor and doctorate student in agricultural education. She is currently teaching AGSC 3301 Agricultural Leadership Principles and AGED 3315 Personal Leadership Development. She will also teach AGED 3314 Team Leadership.

Ms. Wimmer taught high school agriculture at Centre High School in Lost Springs, KS, for 6 years before starting at Texas Tech University. She was recognized for her teaching abilities through several awards including the 2009 NAAE Region 2 Outstanding Young Member, 2008 K-ACTE Outstanding New Career and Technical Educator, and 2005 Kansas Teacher Turn the Key winner. The agriculture program at Centre High School was named the 2005 NAAE Region 2 Outstanding Secondary Program.

Ms. Wimmer is a native of Kansas and earned her B.S. in agricultural education from Kansas State University. Her M.S. is also from Kansas State University in Curriculum and Instruction: Agricultural Education.

In her time outside of school, Ms. Wimmer enjoys spending time with her friends and family and her Red Heeler mix, Bailey.
