Center for Agricultural Technology Transfer
In 1990, Texas Tech established the Center for Agricultural Technology Transfer in order to make agricultural information more accessible throughout West Texas.
The center’s goals are to increase communications skills for both professionals and students, to improve the skills and teaching capabilities of Texas Tech faculty, and to spread information to appropriate audiences through communications training workshops.
The CATT officially launched its own student-based communication and design center – Picador Creative – in January 2014. Picador Creative aims to build quality communications products for agricultural businesses in the West Texas region. Picador Creative offers students the opportunity to engage in experiences that enhance their education beyond the classroom while working in a setting similar to their future career. Students experience working with a client and understand local, state, national and global agricultural issues that may not be covered in their coursework.
