Master of Agriculture @ a Distance

The Master of Agriculture (M.Ag.) degree program at a distance is designed to prepare students and professionals as leaders, managers, and executives in the agricultural sciences and natural resources areas. The program is designed specifically to meet the needs of today’s working professional. This non-thesis degree program requires a minimum of 36 semester hours of graduate coursework.

Because the program is multidisciplinary, students are able to design a program that will meet their unique career objectives. Students select an area of emphasis (a minimum of 18 semester credit hours) in either Agricultural Education, Agricultural Education with a Principal Professional Certification Preparation, Agronomy, Horticulture, or Resource Management.

Application Process

Upon acceptance to the Graduate School, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, and the College of Education (applicable only to students wishing to complete the Principal Certification Preparation Program), students will work with a Graduate Advisory Committee composed of three members (the committee chair must be from the department of the student’s declared area of emphasis). Students pursuing the Agricultural Education with Principal Professional Certification Preparation Program emphasis will be jointly advised by faculty in both the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources and the College of Education; however, students will be matriculated in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Students are subject to all degree regulations as outlined in the Undergraduate/ Graduate Catalog.
