The Block and Bridle Scholarship was established in 1947 by the 1947 Block and Bridle
Club, to provide scholarships to senior or graduate animal science majors with a 3.0
GPA or higher.
The Block and Bridle Club at Texas Tech University was created to promote agriculture
and provide a better understanding of the diversified livestock industry around West
Texas and the World. Today, they participate in and host various activities in the
college and the university, including: Little International Showmanship Contest, Animal
Science Banquet, Ranching Heritage Day, Relay for Life, National Brock and Bridle
Convention, intramural sports, and other social and community service events.
