The Great Plains Cattle Feeders Scholarship Endowment was established in 2004 by the Great Plains Cattle Feeders in Hereford, Texas to provide scholarships to students majoring in animal science who are U.S. citizens. Preference is given to students who are Texas residents.

Established more than 15 years ago, Great Plains Cattle Feeders is in the business of providing services ranging from custom feeding to market analysis to its customers. Based in Hereford, Texas, the company operates throughout the United States and offers cattle procurement, feeding, grazing programs and market analysis and hedging. Great Plains Cattle Feeders has access to pastures across the state of Texas and the Southwest, offering both winter wheat and summer grazing programs. Besides, the firm also offers animal care programs, routine vet consultations, vaccination programs and dust control services. Apart from these, it offers feed and cattle financing to its customers.

In 2017, Great Plains Cattle Feeders was purchased by Green Plains Cattle Company.

Green Plains Cattle Company is the fourth largest cattle-feeding operation in the United States with total capacity of more than 255,000 head of cattle at facilities in Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. The company began in 2014 with the acquisition of Supreme Cattle Feeders in Kismet, Kansas. Green Plains Cattle Co. promotes steadfast adherence to the principles of sustainability, quality assurance, animal welfare, and responsible business practices.
