Mart and Mary Evelyn Pederson Scholarship

The Mart and Mary Evelyn Pederson Scholarship was created in 1988 by Mart and Mary Pederson. Upon their passing, donations have been made in their memory. This scholarship is available to students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources with preference given to Food Technology students.

Mart Pederson graduated from Texas Tech University in 1932 with a degree in Agricultural Education. He went on to work for Price Creameries and Dairies, was an instructor at Texas Tech University, and worked for Beattrice Foods. Mary Evelyn Pederson graduated from Texas Tech University in 1933 with a degree in Home Economics. Her father, J.M. Gordon was the first dean of the College of Arts and Sciences when Texas Tech University opened its doors in 1925. Mart and Mary had three children- Ken, M. Gordon, and Kathy. Ken graduated from Texas Tech University in 1972 with a degree in Psychology.
