The R.H. "Herb" Davis Memorial Scholarship was established in 1984 by the family and
friends of Herb Davis, former vocational agriculture teacher in Amarillo (Amarillo
High School and Tascosa High School). These scholarships are awarded to students who
are majors in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources who have
substantial financial need. Preference is given to entering freshman with a vocational
agriculture background from the Amarillo or surrounding Panhandle area.
R. H. "Herb" Davis graduated from Texas Tech University in 1935 with a Bachelor of
Science in Agricultural Science and in 1948 with a Master of Science in Agricultural
