The Madison Kate "Madi" Lockaby Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and
family of Madison Kate "Madi" Lockaby in 2015. The scholarship is awarded to second
or third year students in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
Recipients must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Madi passed away at the age of 19 in April 2015. She was born in Lubbock and grew
up in Tahoka, Texas. She was actively involved in high school before graduating in
2014 and starting her degree in Animal Science at Texas Tech University. She was also
an active member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and attended South Plains Church of Christ.
Madi was known for her contagious laughter, fun-loving spirit, and ability to light
up the room anywhere she went. Her memory lives on through her family and friends
and the establishment of this scholarship fund.
