B.H. and Jackie Piercy Endowed Scholarship

The B. H. and Jackie Piercy Scholarship Endowment was established by Scott and Jane Piercy in 2010. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.

B. H. "Bill" Piercy graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor's degree in Management in 1951. He participated in Delta Sigma Pi. He was born September 3, 1926 and passed away January 25, 1993.

Mary Jacqueline Myatt Piercy was born on March 4, 1923 and passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009. Jackie was born in Slaton, Texas to Collin and Ella (Hogue) Myatt. She attended schools in Dodge City, Kan., where she graduated from St. Mary of the Plains Academy. She returned to Lubbock in 1945. She was a charter member of Christ the King Cathedral, Christ the King Women's Organization and St. Mary's Auxiliary. She was also an active member of the Lubbock Women's Club. Throughout her life, she was a loving wife and mother, an amazing grandmother and a treasured friend.

B. H. and Jackie married on Oct. 29, 1949 in Roswell, N.M. They had two sons, Mark, who received a BBA in Management in 1974, and Scott, who received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1978, as well as two daughters, Blair, who received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 1977, and Stacie, who received a BBA in Marketing in 1981, all from Texas Tech.
