South Texas Cotton and Grain Association Government Internship Endowed Scholarship

The South Texas Cotton and Grain Association Government Internship Endowment was established by South Texas Cotton and Grain Association in 2004. Funds are to assist in scholarships, housing, living expenses, and travel for selected recipients.

South Texas Cotton and Grain Association (STCGA) was founded in 1963 by a group of South Texas farm growers and allied industry leaders who saw a need to become organized to represent area agriculture. Since that time, the association has been involved in a number of issues of local, state and national interests.

The organization's main offices are located at Victoria in the Texas Crossroads. STCGA works with farm growers in a 36-county area that includes the Upper and Lower Coastal Bend and extends westward into the Texas Winter Garden.

Recognizing the importance of cooperation among agricultural organizations, the Board of Directors of STCGA has sought a united effort on various issues through cooperation with a number of agricultural organizations at the state and national level. STCGA offers its members representation on a broad number of national, state, and local organizations.

Progressive farmers who earn a majority of their living by working the soil comprise the backbone of the membership of the organization, with a lesser number of allied industry also maintaining associate memberships. Farmers may become members of the organization by making dues contributions at their local gin or grain storage facility.
