The Texas Seed Trade Association Scholarship was established by the Texas Seed Trade
Association in 1992. The scholarship is awarded to junior, senior, or master's degree
students majoring in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
The Texas Seed Trade Association serves as the organizational framework for advancing
the collective professional interests, continuing education and public policy goals
of Texas seed providers and allied industries. Texas seed growers provide plant seed
for the production of food, feed and fiber for people and animal consumption. Additionally,
on farms, ranches and dairies, forage and even fuels depend on seed. Without robust,
consistent seed, wildlife habitats, ecosystem restoration and soil conservation would
falter.
