The William Waller and Mary Glavan TECHniques Center Davis College Scholarship Endowment was established in 2019 by William Waller and Mary R. Glavan to provide funding for scholarships to students majoring in a degree program in Davis College and currently enrolled in the TECHniques Center of Student Disability Services.

William Waller received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas Tech in 2007. He went on to get a master's in personal financial planning from TTU, and a doctorate in finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is now an Assistant Professor at Tulane University of Louisiana. He and his wife, Mary Glavan, want the scholarship to help Davis College students and assist students who had difficulty learning.

Mary is a visiting assistant professor at Tulane University. She holds Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing Studies from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied argumentation, public deliberation, and community literacy. Her research explores the dynamics of public argument, advocacy, and disability, especially in educational and legal contexts. She also has an MA in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BA in English Literature from Saint Cloud State University.

The TECHniques Center, which began in 1999, is the only program of its kind in Texas and is a nationally-recognized program for students who learn differently. The center offers one-on-one, regularly scheduled tutoring for Texas Tech University enrolled courses with highly trained and qualified College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor(s). Tutors also assist with organization, time management, study skills, and other resources as requested by Academic Counselors.
