Bob L. Herd Endowed Fellowship in Wildlife and Range Management

The Bob L. Herd Endowment in Wildlife and Range Management was established in 2010 by the Bob L. Herd Foundation. This scholarship was created to enhance research in the Department of Natural Resources Management. The funds are used for graduate fellowships and research related expenditures.

Mr. Bob Herd received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1975. Bob and his late wife, Patsy, established several endowments and, in 2008, donated a $15 Million naming gift for the Bob L. Herd Department of Petroleum Engineering. His giving over the years has benefitted not only the College of Engineering, but the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, Athletics, and other organizations within the university. Bob was named a Distinguished Alumnus of both the Alumni Association and College of Engineering in 1994 and 1995, respectively. He was also inducted into the Petroleum Engineering Academy in 1995. Bob is a member of the Spur Society and Chancellor's Council. He is the Owner and President of Herd Producing Company and the Founder of the Bob L. Herd Foundation. He and Patsy had four children- Greg, Jeff, Kelli, Rod and Staci. Bob resides in Tyler, TX.
