George Fugitt Texas Turfgrass Association Scholarship Endowment
The George Fugitt Texas Turfgrass Association Scholarship Endowment was established
in 2003 by the Texas Turfgrass Association. The scholarship is awarded to junior,
senior or graduate students majoring in turfgrass management and related disciplines.
George Fugitt graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Park
Administration in 1964. He and his wife Doris had one son, Mark who graduated from
Texas Tech University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. George served
the turfgrass industry throughout his life in various companies and job roles, including
sales representative and territory manager.
