Wilson and Ann Holden Scholarship Endowment

 

The Wilson and Ann Holden Scholarship Endowment was established by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Holden in 1992. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students majoring in horticulture and good academic standing.

Wilson Holden, Jr. graduated from Texas Tech University in 1934 with a degree in horticulture. Martha Ann Holden, better known as Annie, also attended Texas Tech University during that time. Wilson was a co-founder of the Holden-Dodson Nursery in Lubbock, TX and Annie was an accountant for Texas Highway Department Lubbock District where she retired in 1976 after 30 years' service. Wilson was also the founder of the Lubbock Nurseryman's Association.

Wilson and Annie had two sons, Wilson B. Holden, III and Robert Brent Holden. Wilson Holden, III graduated from Texas Tech University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Textile Technology and Management and in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Pete Holden graduated from Texas Tech University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
