Dr. Roderick Rejesus received the award for the Outstanding Journal Article Award by the Southern Agricultural Economics Association for his article entitled, "Patterns of Collusion in the U.S. Crop Insurance Program: An Empirical Analysis" published in the August 2004 issue of the Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics. The award is based on the Journal’s Editorial Council’s appraisal of the articles published in the December 2003 through August 2004 issues of the journal. Rejesus received the honor at the awards ceremony of the Southern Agricultural Economics Association meeting in Little Rock, AR on February 7th.

The 2005 Beltwide Cotton Conferences were held January 4th through January 8th in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Dr. Don Ethridge, Dr. Phil Johnson, Dr. Sam Mohanty, Dr. Eduardo Segarra, Dr. Mohamadou Fadiga, Rebekka Martin, and Ginger Sides attended the conference.  The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics had seven papers and posters at the Cotton Economics and Marketing Conference:
