Max Batla, a Graduate Student in the Department of Plant and Soil Science, was recognized at the banquet of the Beltwide Cotton Conference in San Antonio, Texas. He tied for first place in the Master’s level competition.

Charles Clark, a Graduate Student in the Department of Plant and Soil Science, was the winner of the 2006 Soil Science Scholarship awarded by the Professional Soil Scientists Association of Texas. The scholarship will be officially awarded at the annual meeting February 1, 2006 in College Station.

Dr. Craig Bednarz will join the Department of Plant and Soil Science in Spring 2006 as an Associated Professor of Crop Physiology with a joint appointment with the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in Lubbock. Dr. Bednarz’s proven expertise in research and graduate education will greatly complement our cooperative effort to support this region’s cotton industry.
