AFS Building Receives Design Awards

The Animal and Food Sciences building project won two national design awards. The American School and University magazine awarded the project an "Outstanding" citation in both the Adminsitrative Areas/Offices and Common Area categories of their 2006 Educational Interiors Showcase Competition.

Horse Judging Team Places at Congress

The Horse Judging Team received a 2nd place overall at the All American Quarter Horse Congress on October 11th in Columbus, Ohio. The team received a 1st place in the Team Reasons competition and 2nd place in Team Halter. The Horse Judging Team is coached by Kris Wilson and assistant, Will Golden.

The Region VI Collegiate Soils

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

The Plant and Soil Science Department Soils Judging Team placed first in both the team pit and team competition and won the team competition by 200 points at the 2006 Region VI Collegiate Soils Contest, hosted by the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. All the TTU team members were in the top ten individuals. Evan Maxwell, a Junior from Sudan, was high individual; Seth Sowder, a Sophmore from Sudan, was second high individual; Kathleeen Brosch, a Senior from Southland, was third high individual; and Cassidy Sooter, a Junior from Seminole, was ninth high individual. Three teams (including TTU) earned the opportunity to participate in the National Soils Contest, which will be hosted by Utah State University during March, 2007.
