Agricultural and Applied Economics Quizbowl Team
Purpose: To promote the academic development of students in Agricultural and Applied Economics
Activities: Represent TTU in the Academic Quizbowl competitions at the annual meetings of the Southern and American Agricultural Economics Associations

Horse Judging Team
Purpose: To promote critical thinking and oral communication skills and prepare students for horse related industries
Activities: Various judging contests

Tech Equestrian Team
Purpose: To allow students to participate in intercollegiate competition through horse shows at various colleges
Activities: Traveling to other colleges and universities to compete in IHSA horse shows, hosting IHSA horse shows at Texas Tech, and practice riding horses on chosen Sundays

Institute of Food Technologists College Bowl Team
Purpose: To enhance the academic development and communication skills of students interested in food science.
Activities: Participation in IFT College Bowl Competitions

Linnaean Team
Purpose: To compete against other regional and national university teams on knowledge of entomology
Activities: Practice sessions, competition at Southwestern Branch of the Entomology Society of America; if qualified, competition at National ESA conference; competitions are in December and February each year

Beef Cattle Show Team
Purpose: To promote the Department of Animal and Food Sciences by traveling to regional and state fairs and livestock shows throughout Texas and the Southwest to display the school's cattle as well as meet people throughout the area
Activities: Gillespie County Fair, the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo, the New Mexico State Fair, the Fort Worth Livestock Exposition, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Livestock and Meat Evaluation Team
Purpose: To promote oral and written communication and decision making skills relative to live carcass and performance data of livestock

Purpose: To promote oral communication skills, teach students to evaluate livestock and prepare students for a career in the livestock industry
