Frequently Asked Questions - Financial Aid
Q: How do I get a scholarship?
A: Entering freshmen or transfer students may apply online at applytexas.org or by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (806) 742-3681. A university-wide application must be completed and will be distributed to CASNR and to the department within CASNR that your major falls into, enabling you to apply for scholarships at all three levels with only one application. The deadline to apply for scholarships is February 1 of each year.
Q: If I’m still waiting to hear from the Financial Aid Office, when do I need to notify Tech about whether or not I will accept an offer of admission?
A: The first day of class. An offer for financial aid is good until the New Scholarship date of Feb. 1st.
Q: Will applying for financial aid hurt my chances for admission?
A: Definitely not.
Q: Is my financial aid award guaranteed for four years?
A: No. It is awarded on an academic basis and you must reapply every year. Contact the TTU Financial Aid Office for more information.
Q: Does Tech offer merit aid?
A: Yes. To see what scholarships are available and how to apply, visit our Scholarships page. Also, visit the Honor Scholarships page.
