Q: How do I determine which classes I need to take?
A: All students in CASNR have a faculty member as their advisor. This means that you will get personal attention from a professor.
Q: Are there programs in place to help freshman?
A: CASNR offers a mentoring program entitled “Ag Pals.” As an incoming freshman you will have an opportunity to sign up. In this program upper class are assigned to freshman to help them move into the dorms, find their classrooms and answer questions throughout the freshman year.
Q: What courses/degree programs are available in distance education format?
A: Please see theDistance Education website for more information.
Q: How can I get a copy of the application?
A: Undergraduate, graduate, transfer, and international students can apply online or print a copy of the appropriate application through the Texas Tech Admissions Office . In addition, high school counselors can provide a copy.
Q: What are the SAT II requirements?
A: Once a student is admitted to the University, they are admitted to CASNR. The University admission requirements are listed below:

Q: Does Tech have an honors program?
A: Yes, visit the Honors College web site. CASNR works closely with the Honors College, and many CASNR students are involved in the Honors Program.
Q: Can CASNR students study abroad?
A: A study abroad program is offered through the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, England. This year the College offered a Tour of Italy and a week agricultural tour throughout China. There are additional opportunities in: South and Central America, Africa, Australia, Europe, and African countries. The TTU International Cultural Center also offers many exciting studies in over 20 countries around the world.
Q: Does CASNR offer credit for AP, IB, and GCE scores?
A: Yes, the University offers credit for these; check the University Catalog for more details. Answers can be found on pgs. 23-26.
Q: Will CASNR accept transfer credit for college classes taken during high school?
A: Yes, CASNR accepts dual credit classes, but the student must submit an official college transcript for credit.
Q: Are admissions interviews required?
A: No, but there is an essay portion of the admissions application which if complete may be beneficial.
Q: When will I find out about my admissions decision?
A: Once you have submitted and completed your application a decision should be made within three weeks. Check the status of your application at www.depts.ttu.edu/gototexastech.
Q: What is Red Raider Camp?
A: Red Raider Camp is a 3 day, 2 night camp in Junction, TX, where first year students are introduced to the Texas Tech traditions and culture. It gives students the opportunity to have fun, while building friendships and easing the transition to college life. It is run entirely by students.
