Q: What can I do with a CASNR degree?
A: Career opportunities abound with a degree from CASNR - alumni include senators and representatives at the state and federal levels, NASA food scientists, doctors and veterinarians, sales representatives, biotechnologists, plant scientists, teachers and professors, magazine editors, lawyers, fisheries biologists, landscape architects, and bank presidents. Q: How do I get a scholarship?
A: Entering freshmen or transfer students may apply online at Applytexas.org or by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (806) 742-3681. A university-wide application must be completed and will be distributed to CASNR and to the department within CASNR that your major falls into, enabling you to apply for scholarships at all three levels (university, college and department) with only one application. The deadline to apply for scholarships is February 1 of each year.
Q: What kind of academic and personal help is available to CASNR undergraduates?
A: The CASNR Recruitment and Career (ARC) Center provides resources to students majoring in agriculture. Students can visit the ARC Center to find out about student organizations, internship opportunities, college events, university resources, and career development. A: Stangel/Murdough because it has a learning community for CASNR students. It is located close to “CASNR Row” (the area in which most of the departments in the college are located). It also has the Market which offers good food.

A: More than twenty clubs, organizations and judging teams in CASNR offer chances to meet other students who have similar interests, compete in interscholastic contests, and gain leadership experience. Q: What is the maximum number of hours that will transfer?
A: One less hour than half of what your specific degree program requires. For example, if your program requires 120, the maximum number of hours that would transfer would be 59 from a two year community college. If a student is transferring from a four year university then the last 30 hours of the degree must be taken at Tech.

A: The student to faculty ratio is 13:1, with an average class size of 27 students.
