Natural Resources Specialist I-IV/Fisheries Management Biologist

Agency: Inland Fisheries Division, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD)
Job Location: Inland Fisheries District Office – Tyler, TX

Responsibilities: The Natural Resources Specialist (NRS) is responsible for conducting surveys on freshwater impoundments and streams; analyzing and interpreting survey data; implementing approved application; planning and conducting management related research; writing technical reports and scientific publications on significant results and findings; and organizing and conducting public outreach programs. Assists in directing a team of permanent technicians and seasonal workers, interns and volunteers. Assists Project Leader in various administrative duties including purchasing, activity reporting and budget planning.  Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. (more…)

Additional responsibilities include identifying new opportunities and improving web experience for internal and external users; creating new opportunities and ideas for sharing content across multiple platforms including websites, print and broadcast. Ensure a high-quality and consistent website appearance for all materials and pages.
