Natural Resource Specialist V/District Management Supervisor

Job Location: Inland Fisheries District Office, San Marcos, TX.

Responsibilities:

The Natural Resources Specialist V serves as a District Management Supervisor for Inland Fisheries. Responsible for planning and conducting surveys on freshwater impoundments and streams; analyzing and interpreting survey data; implementing approved application; planning and conducting management related research; writing technical reports and scientific publications on significant results and findings; and designing and implementing outreach programs. Responsible for all fisheries management or research activities. Serves as the Department’s representative on key interagency projects involving waters within the project. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Performance Improvement & Communications Coordinator

To improve the overall value, quality and service throughout the supply chain from producer sources through Dairy Farmers of America, Inc.(“DFA”) departments to end customers. This will be achieved by monitoring, recording, analyzing and reporting on Southwest Area business activities, trends and results. Coordinate the development and production of all print, Web-based, and audio communications for the Southwest Area. Ensure that all communications support Southwest Area Council (“SWAC”) and DFA objectives and meet current corporate and professional standards. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the District Leader the Wildlife Biologist performs professional planning, management, and research duties associated with wildlife species and habitat resources. Provides technical assistance and public outreach programs to the general public, private landowners/land managers, sportsmen and new constituencies. Job Location: Sea Center Texas, Lake Jackson, TX.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Hatchery Manager, this position is responsible for performing complex work in the area of fisheries conservation and assists in planning, coordinating and operating a high-tech warmwater state fish hatchery.  Work involves fish propagation, distribution and facility maintenance.  Conducts, analyzes, and evaluates practical and applicable scientific experiments to further develop and expand the discipline of fish culture or enhance the overall productivity and efficiency of hatchery operations.  (more…)

Job Location:  J. D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area, Port Arthur, TX.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Project Leader/Area Manager of the Upper Coast Wetland Ecosystems Project, the Wildlife Biologist assists with surveys within the project area and wetland research, management, maintenance and development associated directly with the Upper Coast Wildlife Management Areas. Conducts wetland baseline inventories and vegetative type mapping. Collects, records, and analyzes biological data and observations regarding habitat and wildlife species. (more…)
