Ecodynamics of River Systems

The Texas State University River Systems Institute and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have partnered to create a River Science and Conservation Fellowship to support a post-doctoral position. The position will be housed at the Texas Rivers Center in San Marcos, Texas and will be funded for two years. Funding available immediately. GardinerAngus Ranch is seeking student interns fromLand-Grant, agricultural universities who are interested in animal genetics, animal nutrition, animal health, reproductive management and/or marketing of purebred cattle.Applicants should be junior or senior undergraduate students with a background ormajor related to animal agriculture.  The goal of the internship program is to increase the knowledge and ability of undergraduate students in ranch management and marketing
of purebred cattle and to enhance their potential to become leaders in the livestock industry.

Selection criteria include: 1) livestock industry background and experience; 2) academic performance and extracurricular activities; 3) career goals and leadership potential; and 4)work ethic and attitude.  A10-week internship is available in the fall and in the spring (flexible timing based on college curriculum).

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is offering a summer internship at their Arlington, Va. office.

Qualifications

Applicants will ideally have a strong interest in animal agriculture and are currently pursuing an agricultural related degree. The successful applicant will assist staff with current industry related projects, research projects and data compilation, participate in regulatory agency meetings and assist with the Association’s social media efforts.
