Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources marked its annual celebration of sustainability and community this week, with its annual Arbor Day event Friday (Apr. 29). Texas State marker highlights long history of Texas Tech’s iconic Dairy Barn

Lubbock County’s Historical Commission and the Student Government Association of Texas Tech unveiled a new Texas State Historical Marker in ceremonies on Thursday (April 28) honoring Tech’s Dairy Barn, one of the university’s original structures. Built in an L-shaped configuration, the agricultural complex includes a free-standing grain silo to the west of the main wing.  more »

John McGlone, a professor and institutional official with Texas Tech’s Department of Animal and Food Sciences, was featured in the February 2016 issue of Texas Monthly as part of the university’s ongoing national marketing campaign titled, “Every day, I’m a Red Raider.” He was awarded the Federation of Animal Science Societies Service Award last summer at the annual meeting of the American Society of Animal Science.  more »

AFS’s Charlie Snider named 55th Masked Rider for the upcoming academic year

Texas Tech University’s new Masked Rider, Charlie Snider, accepted the reins to horse Fearless Champion Friday (April 15), becoming the 55th student to proudly wear the black mask and scarlet cape. Snider, a junior from Corinth, is a student in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences majoring in animal sciences with a focus on equine science.  more »
