Prime Time; Raider Red Meats schedules BBQ, Ribeye Championship for August

The annual Raider Red Meats BBQ & Ribeye Championship will be held Aug. 28-29, giving cooks locally and nationwide the opportunity to square off against each other. Texas Tech’s Animal and Food Sciences adds companion animal behavior expert

Alexandra Protopopova, an expert in companion animal behavior and welfare, has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University’s Department of Animal and Food Sciences, according to officials within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Tech’s Mark Miller named an AMSA Fellow, 2015 Signal Service Award winner

Mark Miller, a nationally-recognized animal science researcher with Texas Tech’s Department of Animal and Food Sciences, has been selected to receive this year’s American Meat Science Association’s Signal Service Award, in addition to being named an AMSA Fellow. The AMSA Signal Service Award was established in 1956 and is given to members in recognition of devoted service and lasting contributions to the meat industry and to the association.  more »
