Members of CASNR’s Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center hosted their annual Ag Fest today (Aug. 27) at the Department of Animal and Food Sciences’ Livestock Arena here on campus. As temperatures hovered in the mid-nineties outside the sprawling building; inside, students, faculty and staff roamed the facility in a late afternoon filled with fun and information.  more »

Prior to this year’s Texas Tech College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ Advisory Board Meeting, a ‘Chuck Wagon Breakfast’ was held on Friday (Aug. 21) at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture in Lubbock. Among the luminaries on hand for the early morning event were Robert Duncan, Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System; Lawrence Schovanec, Texas Tech Provost and Senior Vice President; and Michael Galyean, dean of Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.  more »

Area organizers gear up for ‘Celebrate Cotton’ game at Texas Tech on Sept. 12

Texas Tech University and the ‘Celebrate Cotton’ campaign is set to host its fourth annual event in recognition of the cotton industry on Sept. 12 when Red Raiders take on the University of Texas-El Paso Miners at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. The game is a partnership between Texas Tech Athletics, Plains Cotton Growers and several area agribusinesses.  more »
