Texas Tech enrollment shatters previous numbers; CASNR contributes 1,960

Texas Tech University officials report record enrollment figures for the sixth-straight year as 35,134 students are in fall classes. The difference of 2,023 students from fall 2013 represents the third-largest increase in a single year since the university opened its doors in 1925.  more »

Noted economist joins Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics

An experienced research economist, who specialized in political economy at King’s College London, has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University’s Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, according to officials within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Adam Martin, who will have a joint appointment with Tech’s Free Market Institute, officially stepped into his new teaching and research post on Sept. 1.  more »

Irrigation Management; TAWC Summer Field Day set for Aug. 14 in Floyd County

Texas Tech’s International Center for Agricultural Competitiveness Director Darren Hudson is one of the featured speakers set to participate in the latest edition of the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation’s 2014 Summer Field Day. The free, annual event, which focuses on irrigation management technology, takes place from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 14) at the Floyd County Unity Center, located on HWY 70 half-way between Lockney and Floydada.  more »
