Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources marked its annual celebration of sustainability and community this week, with its annual Arbor Day event Friday (Apr. 24). The event, which featured four CASNR organizations, is a partnership among Student Union & Activities, Hospitality Services, Center for Campus Life, Tech Activities Board, Grounds Maintenance and the Texas Tech Ethics Center.  more »

CASNR Annex Project gives landscape architecture students hands-on experience

When moving, the natural desire is to make the new home seem like the old as much as possible. Couple that with making it a class project, and you have a unique effort ongoing in the Department of Plant and Soil Science. The expansion and renovation of the Bayer Plant Science Building has required the Department of Landscape Architecture to move its computer lab across the street to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Annex.  more »

Landscape Architecture Plaza Project breaks ground behind CASNR Annex

One of the elder buildings in Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is getting a minor facelift this semester with the makeover of the courtyard area behind the CASNR Annex, formerly known as the old Animal and Food Sciences Building. The plaza project is part of Department of Landscape Architecture’s 4404/5316 Materials and Details class.  more »

GALLERY: 53rd Annual Homecoming Breakfast highlights annual celebration

Friends and colleagues from across the Texas Tech campus were on hand today (Oct. 18) for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ 53rd Annual Homecoming Breakfast. Held in the newly renovated Red Raider Ballroom of Tech’s Student Union Building, the Saturday morning event drew more than 250 participants. Later that day Davis Webb threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns to lead Texas Tech to a 34-21 win over Kansas.  more »

Texas Tech University officials report record enrollment figures for the sixth-straight year as 35,134 students are in fall classes. The difference of 2,023 students from fall 2013 represents the third-largest increase in a single year since the university opened its doors in 1925.  more »

Officials with Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources are inviting friends from across campus and the region to the college’s 53rd Annual Homecoming Breakfast on Saturday (Oct. 18) at Tech’s Student Union Building at 15th Street and Akron Ave. in Lubbock. “This is an excellent opportunity to see and renew old acquaintances with graduates from all the departments,” said CASNR Dean Michael Galyean.  more »
