On The Record; CASNR students honored at ‘Who’s Who’ reception

Thirteen outstanding students from Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources have been included in latest edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities,” according to school officials. The university hosted a special ‘2014 Who’s Who Recognition Reception’ on Nov. 16 at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.  more »

Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources welcomed more than 600 friends and guests from across the region to its 87th annual Pig Roast last night (Nov. 13) at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall. The annual event celebrates scholarship donors, recipients and intercollegiate judging teams, as well as honoring three individuals with Gerald W. Thomas Outstanding Agriculturalist Awards.  more »

GALLERY: 53rd Annual Homecoming Breakfast highlights annual celebration

Friends and colleagues from across the Texas Tech campus were on hand today (Oct. 18) for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ 53rd Annual Homecoming Breakfast. Held in the newly renovated Red Raider Ballroom of Tech’s Student Union Building, the Saturday morning event drew more than 250 participants. Later that day Davis Webb threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns to lead Texas Tech to a 34-21 win over Kansas.  more »

Texas Tech University officials report record enrollment figures for the sixth-straight year as 35,134 students are in fall classes. The difference of 2,023 students from fall 2013 represents the third-largest increase in a single year since the university opened its doors in 1925.  more »

Carlos Portillo-Quintero has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University’s Department of Natural Resources Management, according to officials within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Members of CASNR’s Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center hosted their annual AgFest today (Aug. 28) at the Department of Animal and Food Sciences building here on campus. A summer deluge sent the gathering of students, faculty and staff into the facility’s livestock arena for an afternoon of fun and information.  more »
