Texas Tech Equestrian Team advances to national competition

image image From humble beginnings, the Texas Tech Equestrian Team now garners national attention. Three members of the team, seniors Robin Morris and Allison Griest, along with junior Julia Lindholm, will make their way to West Springfield, Mass. to compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships May 3-6. Rajan places first in poster research competition

Turfgrass expert joins plant and soil science department

image image Gerald Henry has been named a new assistant professor of turfgrass science with Texas Tech University’s Department of Plant and Soil Science. His research focus will be on turfgrass weed control and management, along with plant growth regulators and improved turfgrass varieties. (more…)

W. Texas economists say proposed bill will hurt cotton producers

LUBBOCK, Texas – Cotton producers in Texas and across the country will see a 15 percent drop in their net income in the first year of a 2007 farm bill proposal from the Bush Administration, a model run by economists at Texas Tech University shows. (more…)

Rodriguez receives SAEA Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award

Divina Gracia Rodriguez, who completed her master’s degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics in December, was presented the Southern Agricultural Economics Association’s Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award on Feb. 7 at the organization’s annual meeting in Mobile, Alabama. (more…)
